Paying the Dumbass Tax
All I have to say about this article is that the guy was a total freaking moron. The fact that he responds by wanting to sue (read:blame) someone else, just shows that he deserves what he’s getting.
A Texas man is suing 1-800-Flowers for $1 million, saying the company is to blame for his pending divorce.
After Leroy Greer’s wife filed for divorce in January 2006, he began seeing another woman and sent his new girlfriend a dozen long-stemmed roses. But a few months after the flowers were sent, Greer reconciled with his wife, and she moved back in to his Missouri City home, according to Greer’s lawyer, Kennitra Foote.
That was, until his wife received a thank-you note from 1-800-Flowers.

I have no patience for people who cheat. Not that it’s immoral, more that it’s STUPID. And LAZY. (Morality is for the judgement of people more wholesome than I. Stupidity and laziness though… that is just wrong.)
His wife’s reply: Be a man.
My reply: Own up. Shut up. And pay the Dumbass Tax.

ah the bastard! it’s good that the wife has known! and he’s trying to make some money on top of all this by suing the florist! good god!!
I certainly don’t think he deserve $1 million, not for a divorce. I don’t think he has a case, but that’s up to the judge..
I have no sympathy for him; he screwed up and got caught, it doesn’t matter how he got caught.
I don’t altogether agree with you that Leroy’s having a girl-friend after his wife left him and sued for divorce is “cheating.” No question it is stupid–Hell, if there needs to be a cooling-off period between applying for a gun license and actually getting it, and if buyers get three days for “buyer’s remorse” to hit them, how much more should there be a “keep yer pecker in yer pants” period at least until the divorce is granted.
Remember this: good old Leroy was so broken-hearted over being divorced by one woman, he consoled himself by diddling another one. Personally, I think it was decent of him to send her flowers…but he didn’t want to get too personal by visiting a florist and choosing the flowers in person? As Morinn said, “Good God.” This is dumbass on so many levels.
