The Fairy Experience
They say “write what you know”, which is one of the reasons that this advert for a Fairy School caught my eye. I tweeted about a couple of days ago, but I thought I’d share this with those who haven’t been listening to my inane chatter.
I’m definitely thinking of signing up. Marsha asked me if I thought they’d provide wings, or if we’d have to bring our own, but I’m not entirely sure. I will have to look into it.
I can’t think of a more fun way to research my new idea for an urban fantasy novel. If only they had camps or programs for all of the things we writerly types want to investigate! I’m sure it would take us some amazing places!
Must go… off to dust off my magic wand and pack my bag.

Don’t forget your pixie dust!

You know what’s funny about that, Jon? Is that I have pixie dust. No, not kidding.
I’d completely forgotten about it until you said that!
A dear friend gave it to me when I moved away. She gave me a tiny vial that had a lovely silver pixie wrapped around it hanging from a silver chain. The vial was full of a mysterious sparkly purple substance.
I’ve only used it twice, both times to help a wee one get rid of nightmares (tiny smudge rubbed on each eyelid did the trick.)
I wonder if it’s time to get it out again… hmmm.
I had homemade pixie dust.
The Disney Store sold a vial with glitter and TinkerBell’s image. My allowance didn’t stretch that far. I bought a pretty vial (with a cork) at a craft store, bought purple and silver glitter, and made my own pretty fairy dust.
Yeah, that’s how I roll.
