Writing Adventure Group: Results #10 / Instructions #11

logo

WAG #10 Results and WAG #11 instructions below. All are welcome to join next week’s adventure!

The theme for the Writing Adventure Group #10 was “The Professional”: This week, your assignment is to observe someone doing a job (their profession should be one you don’t know that much about). Describe him/her and also what they’re doing, why they’re doing it (as best you can tell), and how.

The Writing Adventure Group is on Facebook.  Join us there too, and get weekly reminders so you never miss an adventure.

For those who participated, please cut and paste the links below (and instructions for next week, if you wish) to your own blogs.  This will help promote the group and give some linky love to each other, creating a fantastic cross-promotional network of WAGs!

Next week’s Writing Adventure:

Spider Bite“WAG #110: Scaredy-Cat” Another people-watching exercise! Choose a stranger and observe him/her for a little while. Now give them a phobia. A full-on, jump on the chair, scream like a little girl, unreasonable fear. (Or however you imagine them to respond.) Try to choose something that fits the person you’re watching, and let us know what it is about them that clued you in to their secret fear. The object is not just to describe the fear, but to make us understand why it fits with this particular person.

Special thanks to Christine Kirchoff for this week’s topic idea! Email NixyValentine AT gmail DOT com to contribute topic ideas. It’s very helpful!

Post the results on your blog, and read this post about the group for information on how to notify me so your post will be properly included in next week’s list.  (Note, please include WAG #11 in the subject heading and tell me how you want your name to appear! If you do not, I will use the name as it appears on your email.) Deadline: next Tuesday, May 12th.

  1. I posted a Not A WAG this week, since I missed the deadline and did not follow the rules (I’m really bad about that!). But I did follow the general theme, Professional(s), so as a writing prompt the WAG still did good by me.

Honestly, Tuesdays were always kind of bad for me. I post my Max Mann chapters on Mondays, usually late, and so liked to reserve Tuesdays for Max, straight up. That’s why I always post kind of late.

But Max is done now. I posted the last chapter Monday. So I should be able to actually be able to post my WAG on Tuesdays from now on (or until the next novella). Maybe I’ll even start following the rules.

    Nah. ;)

  2. If it’s any consolation, Jon, I didn’t follow the rules either. I completely missed the instruction to supply my preferred title (”Queen of the Universe” usually works, but no one will grant my request to be address in that manner. Oh well…)

Nixy, thanks so much for organizing and maintaining this project. I missed #8 (cuz I misunderstood) and I missed #9 because I was out of town, but I truly enjoyed writing #10. I’m looking forward to tackling #11!

    Cheers!

UPDATE! I’ve added posts for: Christine Segina, Jon Strother (even though he’s very naughty and didn’t tell me! Doing a “not wag”! Hrmph!)

Also, Sue, I’ve changed your listing above to use your full name. I don’t mind at all listing people the way they want to be listed, I just don’t like making assumptions, plus it is time consuming to go hunt down everyone’s blogs when I’m trying to compile the list.

Thank you to everyone who participated!
