I got a funny email yesterday from a site called “Constant Content“.
Hi India,
Constant-Content has credited your PayPal account $65.00. Thanks for choosing Constant-Content.com as an outlet for your writing.
Now, I suppose the letter itself isn’t that funny… the funny part is that I’d forgotten completely that I’d even signed up back in March! I went based on a link someone put up on Twitter, and reworked an old techie blog article I’d written to make it all fresh and new, set a price, and then promptly forgot about it. I recall thinking that I like writing fiction so much more, so I wanted to concentrate on that, rather than letting myself get distracted. I have a limited amount of writing energy, you know!
So, when I got this email notice, it was like winning $65 in the lottery. Not a huge amount of money, but I remember the article took me roughly an hour to write, so that just makes it doubly fun…not to mention that this is more than I’ve made selling my short stories! I suppose I can now call myself a freelancer! An absent-minded freelancer, but a published one!
Hi India

Thank you for sharing.
That’s great news, even if it was surprising.
You must have a perma-grin!
All the best,
RKCharron
