Kitchen Elves

My folks are here from the States, and we’re having a great time. It’s always nice to see them and mom’s cooking just seems to make everything better. I’ve been spending as much time with them as possible, hence the lack of posting this week!

Meanwhile, I’ve been working on creating a little elf pattern for the past week, and so I had to come post now that he’s finished. He’s a small little thing. The grapes are life-sized, but that’s part of his charm for me! I thought about making him bigger to improve some of the details, but I confess I think having him be small makes him more charming!

So here he is! I’m afraid the picture doesn’t really do him justice. Maybe it’s the lighting! I haven’t really found a way to take great pictures of my knitting.

He’s got so much character. I love that hair!

  2. Just a note! Updated the pictures to use ones in natural light… it looks much better and the colour is more accurate.

  3. I dunno what my favorite thing is. Is it those glorious ears that go on and on? His rotund belly? The wolf-skin trousers? No. I think its his great toes sticking right up in the air. He’s just delightful.

  4. Wow, India. I’m impressed. I love this little guy.

  5. Thanks for the kind comments! I’ve gotten some nice feedback on Ravelry too, which feels great. I’m pondering my next little elf now… something with strawberries, I think!
