Writing Adventure Group: Instructions #18
As you can see, I’ve decided to start up the Writing Adventure Group again after a much-longer-than-anticipated hiatus. If you’re new to the blog, check out 2009′s WAG posts and visit some of the contributing authors.
The purpose of the Writing Adventure Group is to challenge us as writers (at least in a small way), combat writers block, to get to know other writers, and share some link love in our little group. For more details, read the WAG page.
All writers (published or non-published, fiction authors, bloggers, poets, or just folks who like words) are welcome to join the adventure! Instructions below!
The Writing Adventure Group is on Facebook. Join us there too, and get weekly reminders so you never miss an adventure.
The Topic:
“WAG #18: Invisible Object” Look around your workspace, favourite chair, back yard, etc, and notice the objects around you. Choose one that is so familiar that you no longer notice it, even though it’s right next to you. Describe it as though you’re seeing it for the first time and particularly any feelings you have about it, past or present. Would you miss it if it was gone? No rules! Just write! Deadline: next Tuesday, April 20th.
How to be added to the “results” post next week:
- Write whatever you like based on the theme suggested
- Post the results on your blog
- Email THE DIRECT LINK TO YOUR WAG POST (not just your blog) to India AT IndiaDrummond DOT com (or use the handy-dandy web form). This way I can link back to you in the next post! Please include the word WAG in your subject heading. Please include the title of the post (if any) and your name as you want it to appear on the listing. If you do not do this, I will use the name as it appears on your email.
- To get more people involved, please use Twitter, FB status, myspace, your blog, etc to tell your writer friends about the group and talk about your own writing adventure! All are welcome to join, so spread the word!

If I had more time, I’d join this group. It sounds wonderful!
You really don’t need to worry about membership or anything like that. It’s all very informal. If a topic interests you one week and you have a spare moment, then write up a paragraph or two and send me a note.
All WAG folks have skipped weeks and such. I don’t hold anyone’s feet to the fire, and if no one but me does it, well, that’s fine! (Actually, I’ve even skipped weeks before myself!)
You can join the Facebook group or just keep an eye on me on Twitter, and either one of those will get you reminders, so you can decide if you want to participate from week to week.
I hope you will join us sometimes, but if not, that’s cool too.

Yay for the return of the WAG! I’m in, I’m in!
I am sooooo glad WAG has started up again. I have jury duty on Monday, so I suspect I know what I’ll be doing.
