Writing Adventure Group #21
This week I’m trying a new method of doing the WAG links, so please read all the instructions carefully, even if you’ve done many WAGs before!
“WAG #21: Message in a Bottle” It’s part of human nature that we sometimes wish we could communicate with our younger selves, our unreasonable selves, our subconscious selves, our self-destructive selves, our more innocent selves, or any number of other us-es that we all seem to have within. In this week’s WAG, consider the way we talk to ourselves, the tapes we play inside our heads, and write a piece: fiction or non-fiction, about yourself, a character, or someone else. As usual no limits and no rules. One-two-three Write! (This week’s theme suggested by Kate McIntire. If you have a theme suggestion, please write to me.)
How to be added to the “results”:
- Write whatever you like based on the theme suggested & post on your blog.
- Return here and click below on the “Linky Tools” widget where it says “Click Here To Enter”. This will add your WAG entry to this post automatically. No need to write to me to submit your links this time! All members who add the code in step #3 will automatically add your post to their blogs. You may add links to this list between now and 12 MAY 2010.
- Add the “Linky Tools” code to your own blog post, thus automatically adding each and every WAG #21 addition to your list! (Click “get code here” below.)
- Use Twitter, FB status, myspace, your blog, etc to announce your own writing adventure! On Twitter, use the hashtag #WAG to designate Writing Adventure Group posts.
- Invite your writing friends to join! All writers and bloggers are welcome.
If you have any trouble using the Linky Tools widget below, please write to me. I can always add you to the listing manually if need be. If you cannot enter javascript on your blog, there is an HTML link to the bloghop available, or you may be able to just cut and paste the list below.

Well, I put the linky thingy up but my blog is the only one appearing (so far. Hope this works! Looking forward to finding everyone else’s posts for this topic.

Yes, I figure it will take folks a few days or even the whole week to populate the list by adding their own WAGs.
I am going to change your title though to be your name (rather than the title of the prompt). This way people will know where they’re going!
You should be able to add the list to your post if you want, by clicking the ‘get the code here’ link.

I just added Kate’s post manually, because she was having trouble getting the form to work. If anyone else is having difficulty, please write to me!

I did it now, also. I have no idea if it works.
Okay, I give up. I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t understand where to put what. I got a code but it says to put it in your blog and nothing happens when I insert it…
Mickey, it looks like wordpress.com blogs like yours don’t accept javascript. I have an html link I can send you, or you can manually create a list on your blog just as you used to do by copying and pasting from this list here. I’ll email you the html code you need.

Okay figured out something that would work: if you select the entire list from above and then paste it into the Visual mode of a WordPress.com blog. That seemed to copy the whole thing, links and all. What it wouldn’t do though is update automatically when more people have added their names to the list. But I suppose you could always come at the end of the week and copy it then.
