Nowhere Else
Just a quickie post today, since I’m feeling somewhat motivated and I don’t want to ruin it by babbling here when I could be babbling in a Word file.
This week on Twitter there was talk of the Procrastination Monster, our stories motivating us… to do the laundry, and a lot of my friends seem to be either blocked up or so busy they can’t see straight. I saw this quote on The Writer’s Little Book, and it made me smile!
Writing is the only thing that, when I do it, I don’t feel I should be doing something else.
Gloria Steinem
How true that is for me! I’m prone to what you might consider a character flaw of often wishing I was somewhere else, doing something else, talking to someone else, or even sometime else. Buddhist training helps with that. The whole purpose of learning meditation is to learn to be here.
I suppose I like this quote because I think it defines why writing is my happy place!

Enjoy spending some time at your happy place. Like the song says, “Right here, right now. There’s no other place I’d rather be.”
How true!!!
Good luck with your inspired writing and for having that as your happy place!
I have a hell of a time keeping those procrastination monsters at bay! LOL!
Take care

I didn’t know it, but I share that with Steinem. I had an AH-HA moment, on your dime.
No one will know if your closets are alphabetically organized, spotless & do not smell musty. You and they will know if you don’t follow one of the nine daughters of Mnemosyne and Zeus. Imagine my delight, for example, day-before-yesterday when I found the first story you ever wrote. [the size of an index card, written & drawn on both sides.]

That’s a brilliant quote, and it is (mostly) so true! The only time I write but feel guilty about it is when I have stuff like exams to revise for. But my university days will soon be over, and writing will be guilt-free!

What a great quote! I love that.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I wish you much luck on your new project!
Now I’m off to babble on my own word file!
Well, I signed up to follow your blog on Facebook, but I’m not sure if I did it right. I don’t know if your “follow” number changed or not. I’m a little digitally challenged.
No guilt here! I can block the world out.

Yep, Julie! I see you on my list of Facebook followers for networked blogs!

I agree with that 100%! It’s just getting to that point that’s the challenge.
That’s so true, love the quote!
And I like that you consider writing your happy place too
(even though on many occasions writing does inspire me to do the laundry too, but only about 1% of the time, so I’m good)
