Love Rom-Com? Then You’ll Love Talli Roland!

If you follow very many author blogs, you’re going to be hearing about Talli Roland’s latest release The Hating Game today. I expect Twitter and Facebook shares will be all over the place as well. I’ve bought books before because of the buzz and excitement I’ve seen online before. It can be huge fun to feel a part of something that everyone is talking about. But that isn’t why you should buy this book.

Why should you? Well… here’s my list:

Five reasons why you should buy The Hating Game, by Talli Roland:

5. It’s original. So many rom-com/chick lit books are all the same. I’ve never seen anything like The Hating Game, and yet it still has the fun, feel-good factor you want from a rom-com.
4. No stereotyped characters, no women that are too stupid to live, no men with throbbing, well, anything. The main character is anything but loveable in the beginning, and yet I connected with her. I really enjoyed the journey she went on in the book. This book is fun, wacky, and sometimes sweet, but it also has depth.
3. A hilarious look behind the scenes of a reality TV show. If you’ve ever watched a show like Four Weddings or The Bachelor and felt smugly superior, then this book will make you laugh out loud.
2. It’s just a hella good read.
1. Every time someone buys a copy of The Hating Game, a TV producer chokes on a sausage. (Okay, that’s only going to be funny if you’ve read the book–So go read it!)

 About THE HATING GAME:

When man-eater Mattie Johns agrees to star on a dating game show to save her ailing recruitment business, she’s confident she’ll sail through to the end without letting down the perma-guard she’s perfected from years of her love ‘em and leave ‘em dating strategy. After all, what can go wrong with dating a few losers and hanging out long enough to pick up a juicy £2000,000 prize? Plenty, Mattie discovers, when it’s revealed that the contestants are four of her very unhappy exes. Can Mattie confront her past to get the prize money she so desperately needs, or will her exes finally wreak their long-awaited revenge? And what about the ambitious TV producer whose career depends on stopping her from making it to the end?
