E is for Elated

Despite my happy C is for Celebrate publication day of Ordinary Angels, we had some hiccups. To be expected, I suppose… every author I know of had some bumps in the road on their big day. It’s a bit like a wedding day. (Sorry, Talli, you know how I love metaphors!) You plan for 6 months, but something always happens to, um, let’s say, make the day memorable.

Then yesterday we had D is for Dizzy. Holy COW. I don’t think I’ve ever had a day, even one of my *cough*several*cough* wedding days (What can I say? I’m the marrying kind), that could compare to the unstoppable whirlwind that was April 5th. Who knew? Well, I suppose every published author before me knew. But I sure as heck didn’t! And I wrote that D is for Dizzy at the beginning of the day! If I’d waited until the end, it would have been D is for Down-On-The-Floor-Passed-Out-From-Fatigue-And-Overload!!! Hee!

So today we have E is for Elated. But it’s a calm, happy elated, and not the whirling dirvish yesterday was. The release happened, the book is available everywhere worldwide, and lo and behold (yes, I said LO), people are buying it. And liking it. Wow. So E is also for, to quote the Harry Potter grading system, Exceeds Expectations. And a lot of that is down to you guys, my friends, my facebook pals, my tweeps, readers, book bloggers, reviewers… wow. I can only take credit for a small portion of the success the book has had so far. Yeah, okay, I wrote it, but the excitement and success are down to YOU. Without you, the book would have gone unread, untouted, unloved. So….

THANK YOU!

Before I go, I just want to point you to Jamie Debree’s Variety Pages blog. She’s a fabulous indie author who writes some seriously lucious stuff. I’m over at her place today talking about The R Word… Romance.. and why I HATE it. (Yes, you heard me right….a paranormal romance author who HATES romance–the thing, not the genre. LOL!) Please stop by and say hello!

Also, fellow Lyrical author Jason Beymer posted this interview with me today, in which you can find out why I’d be featured on an episode of the TV show Cops!

  9. Congrats on a good launch for your book. It’s awesome that people are buying it and unlike a wedding, your book sales may grow even further, so you can relive this milestone over and over again, every time you reach, say, a certain amount of sales or a review from your favorite author or outstanding reviews from your readers….now that I think about it, maybe it is like a Wedding, and your book milestones will be the Anniversary, lol.

Anyway, it was nice to visit your blog and even better to find out that so many authors are doing well and getting their work published.

  11. Glad you got through the day without doing anything too rash.

Have not quite got round to reading Ordinary Angels, just yet, i have to finish a Beta read (due this week) AND i am half way through ‘Clockwork Angel’ by Cassie Clare. When i am done with them ‘Ordinary Angels is next on the list.

I will certainly let you know how it goes. I was worried (as you know) that i wouldn’t be able to get a copy at all.

    Silly Amazon.

Must have given you no end of anger fits.

anyway best be back off to reading.
