This has been a real week of ups and downs with my writing. The wordcount on Wildings is going steadily up, and its taking shape, but my characters are giving me hell and even though the plot is outlined, I am not entirely certain how I’m going to get them there from here.

I have to admit I squeed a little bit when I saw that Summer had posted this picture on her blog for the product AquaNotes. This week I noticed that the flash pieces I wrote on my ND140 Twitter account were much darker than is usual for me. Odd, considering that I’ve been pretty happy this week. (Still basking in the afterglow of the new laptop.) I can’t really explain it… I suppose I’ve always thought a writer should be able to go to the dark, scary places just as easily and comfortably as the happy... 
I had planned to blog yesterday and then today about more flash fiction on Twitter. After the list I made last week on my blog, I’ve found 20 more Twitter micro-fiction authors.
But… yesterday around noon I got a shiny new Dell Studio in the post. You see, I’ve finally acknowledged that my wishful thinking (about my disability disappearing overnight like one of Nanny McPhee’s warts)...
Well, I’ve decided to go ahead with it. Yes, I’m going to start posting flash fiction (aka Twiction, aka micro-fiction) on Twitter. My new account for this is ND140
I thought I’d be obsessing over every word, as I would if I were writing a poem, but there’s something so nice and easy about the Twitter format. Less pressure, perhaps. More casual?

Last year I became aware of what some call “Twiction” or “Flash Fiction” on Twitter (stories of 140 characters or less). I’ve enjoyed it whenever I find a brave writer soul who can be so creative while so constrained. I’ve thought about opening up my own Twitter Twiction account, but I’m not sure I could do it so well as some of these.

On Twitter yesterday, someone posted a link yesterday to a Readability Meter. Now I’ve never paid that much attention to these tools, even though a lot of them come with Word and WordPerfect and such.

These days I do 92% of my internet browsing, Tweeting, and game playing through my iPod Touch, and I’ve noticed that very few blogs, including mine, had mobile support! So today I’ve added the WPTouch plugin to make browsing this blog much easier for those who, like me, have plunged into the mobile world.
If you own a blog, I would ask, even beg, for you to add this or a similar plugin!...
